A&E’s American Justice profiles Hossencofft case

Update October 26: Linda Henning’s convictions vacated.

Editor’s note: This story was originally published before these developments and reflects what was known at the time, from police, court records and my own reporting. In October 2026, Second Judicial District Judge Cindy Leos found that Linda Henning was not competent to stand trial at the time of her 2002 trial. The judge vacated her convictions and ordered a new trial. Henning is presumed innocent of the charges unless and until she is convicted again. For the latest court record, see the Henning competency timeline.
